Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov has paid a visit to OboronExpo-2014 military exhibition held in Zhukovsky town near Moscow late last week, Tengrinews reports.
The international exhibition of arms, technology and innovation OboronExpo-2014 was held on August 13-17 and brought together 212 producers from Russia and 8 foreign companies (Belarus, Germany, India, China, USA and France). The exhibition presented developments in missile and artillery systems, armored vehicles and weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles and systems, robots and robotics, and etc.

The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan visited the expo during his working visit to Russia. He met with Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec Corporation, one of the organisers of the event. “I believe that Kazakhstan and Russia have good prospects of military-technical cooperation and we are ready to present you our new offers," Chemezov said during the meeting.
In return the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan praised the quality of the exhibition and said that Kazakhstan also had an international exhibition of armaments, KADEX, that was held in 2014 for the third time.
The same day Kazakhstan’s Minister of Defense met with Oleg Bochkarev, Deputy Head of the Russian Military-Industrial Commission. They discussed further integration of the military-industrial complexes of Kazakhstan and Russia and creation of joint ventures for production of a wide range of military-purposed products.
Akhmetov declared readiness of Kazakhstanis to take on Russia’s state defense order, signaling thereby the increasing cooperation between the two countries in military and defence industry.
