Defense Ministry explains video showing military equipment in western Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Photos and videos of military equipment in the Zhylyoi district of the Atyrau region have circulated on social media.

The appearance of military equipment in western Kazakhstan raised questions among users. It was later explained that the movement of the equipment is related to planned exercises and combat training activities.

"The movement of air defense units, including by rail transport, is carried out as planned as part of combat training activities. Currently, issues of increasing the mobility of units, their coordination, and readiness to perform assigned tasks are being practiced, including the protection of important facilities and areas," the Ministry of Defense press service said.

According to the ministry, such activities are a regular part of Armed Forces training and are conducted in accordance with approved plans.

The Ministry of Defense also urged social media users and media outlets not to spread unverified information and to rely on official sources.

It is worth noting that in November 2025, the Ministry of Defense warned Kazakhstanis about the redeployment of military equipment by rail and road across regions of the country.
