Th situation in the CIS countries and outside the CIS borders remains unstable, Tengrinews.kz reports.

This statement was made during a meeting of the CIS Intelligent Service Experts that was held by the CIS Anti-terrorist Center in Bishkek on December 9. Emergence of new terrorist and extremist organizations is one of the main reason behind tension at the CIS territory.

There is an unconfirmed data that some of the terrorist groups at the territory of Afghanistan have become active, according to the meeting's participants. The intelligent service experts are particularly concerned about the recent terrorist acts in Central Asian countries.

“We are aware that the situation is getting more complicated in the neighboring Kazakhstan, the threat of terrorism is still high at the territory of Tajikistan. It means the threat of terrorism is very high in Central Asia,” Kolbay Mussayev, State Committee of Homeland Security of Kyrgyzstan deputy chairman said.

The main goal of Bishkek meeting was not only to discuss the current situation, but also to work out new principles of cooperation and a strategy of the anti-terrorist efforts.

Establishment of a new online CIS Anti-terrorist Center data bank will become the first step of the effort. Moreover, the Center plans to hold joint CIS security services and military units theory and practice training exercises in 2012.
