In 2011 uranium production output in Kazakhstan will make up 20 000 tons, KazTag Agency reports, citing Vladimir Shkolnik, KazAtomProm National Nuclear Company Head. “As planned, Kazakhstan will produce around 20 000 tons of uranium in 2011”, Shkolnik said on the sidelines of a forum on industrial innovations. “There will be some growth, but not very significant”, he said when commenting on uranium production estimates for 2012. KazAtomProm is Kazakhstan's major exporter of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for nuclear power stations, special equipment, technologies and dual-usage materials.
