The first container train [bearing a female name Saule] from China has crossed the Kazakh border on its way to Lithuania, the Press Service of the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport and Communications reports. The decision on launching the train was taken during Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė’s visit to Kazakhstan early October, following the 7th sitting of the intergovernmental committee for trade and economic cooperation. Following the respective decision of the two Transport Ministries, the first train of 41 containers was launched October 28 from China’s Chungking towards Lithuania across Kazakhstan. Today the train crossed the Kazakh border (at Dostyk station). The length of the connection will make up 10 days.
