Sri Lanka is asking Kazakhstan to share its experience in exploration and development of oil and gas fields, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports from a joint business forum held in Astana. “Sri Lanka spends about $6 billion on crude imports, with crude accounting for 1/3 of the country’s imports. I want to invite Kazakhstan’s businesses to share their vast experience in exploration and development of hydrocarbons”, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Gamini Lakshman Peiris said. He assured that his country’s government guarantees protection of any Kazakhstan’s investments. “Sri Lanka has put in place a favorable climate. We are working to eradicate terrorism and remove all the barriers to investments”, he emphasized, adding that his Government is considering launching JVs.
