Russia asked Kazakhstan to tighten control over US meat quality
The Russian Federal Service on Control of Consumers' Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance (Rospotrebnadzor) asked Kazakhstan and Belarus to tighten control over quality of meat imported from the USA, the authority's official website writes. Such measures are related to discovery of E.ColiO157:H7 collibacillus in ground beef from Kansas, USA. The producer Tyson FreshMeatslnc is currently calling off around 60 tons of its products. U.S. healthcare authorities report that collibacillus diseases cases after consumption of infected meat were registered in the middle of September. Exact number of diseased is not disclosed. Under the Customs Union (CU) conditions Rospotrebnadzor asked authorities of Kazakhstan and Belarus to take respective measure to prevent import of infected meat to the territory of the CU.
