Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov has requested Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev to pay close attention to a slowdown in the growth rate of oil production in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports from the government meeting. “I would like to turn the attention of Oil and Gas Ministry and KazMunaiGas to the lowering of the growth pace of oil production. We know very well that there is a slowdown in several major companies. First of all, this is Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. and operators working in Kyzylorda oblast. Oil and Gas Ministry has to pay attention to that,” the Prime-Minister said. “Most of this year’s results depend on oil and gas production,” he added. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Ministry lowered the forecast on production of natural and associated gas in Kazakhstan for the period until 2016. According to the amendments to the Ministry’s strategic plan for 2011-2015, Kazakhstan plans to produce 40.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013, 41 billion cubic meters in 2014 and 45 billion cubic meters in 2015.
