KyrgyzGas owes Kazakhstan’s enterprises almost $25 million for gas supplies, KazTAG reports. “The current debt to KazTransGas for gas supplies stands at $10 million 207 thousand. The amount in arrears for gas supplied back in 2003-2005 total $13 million”, KyrgyzGas Head Turgunbek Kulmurzayev told at a press-conference July 30. “All the KyrgyzGas’ debts are passed on to Russia’s Gazprom in line with the purchase agreement. The debts to KazTransGas will be settled by Gazprom”, he elaborated. Earlier in Moscow there was an intergovernmental agreement signed for Gazprom of Russia to purchase KyrgyzGas for $1. The Company was bought along with all its debts. Workers of KyrgyzGas are expected to retain their jobs.
