KazakhTelecom has covered the whole Kazakhstan with digital TV by launching the iD TV in the central, western and southern parts of the country, Kazakhtelecom reports. KazakhTelecom is Kazakhstan’s largest provider of communication services. iD TV was initially launched in February 2009 in Astana. Later it was made available to the residents of Almaty and other cities of Kazakhstan. The number of iD TV subscribers reached 33,000 by the beginning of 2011. Legal entities constitute only 1% of the subscribers. KazakhTelecom plans continue developing iD TV services and expand its additional options. The iD TV is the first interactive TV service in Kazakhstan allowing users to watch their favorite programs whenever they want. All channels on iD TV are broadcasted with high digital quality and stereo sound.
