Kazakhstan is going to supply sweets and wool worth $1 million to China, Tengrinews.kz reports citing PR-department of the National Export and Investments Agency KAZNEX INVEST. “Kazakhstan-made goods worth $1.2 million will be exported to Western China. With some support from the National Export and Investments Agency Kaznex Invest of Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies several local companies have signed contracts to supply their goods to Western China. Rakhat company will export confection and Kuat company from Almaty oblast will supply wool to China,” the Agency states. Both contracts were signed after the companies’ participation in Western-Chinese exhibition of imported goods held in Chendu city (Sichuan province) on June 15-17, 2012. The exhibition was organized by Chinese International Trade Promotion Committee that signed a cooperation memorandum with Kazakhstan's Kaznex Invest last November. Signing of the memorandum allowed Kazakhstan companies to participate in the exhibition free of charge. Besides, a survey made by the representative office of Kaznex Invest in China in near-border and western regions of China has identified Sichuan as one of the most attractive provinces in Western China for promotion of Kazakhstan-made commodities. The province’s population is over 85 million people (3rd in China). Favorable geographic location allows to deliver Kazakhstan-made goods to the remote regions of Western China with the total population of over 700 million people. Earlier Kazakhstan and China agreed on supplies of Kazakhstan-made batteries worth $30 million.
