No final decision has been made on the reactor. Though, it will be a VBR-300”, Duisenbai Turganov, Vice Minister of Industry and New technology of Kazakhstan, said when speaking at the International Industrial Innovation Forum in Astana. Vice Minister emphasized that the events of Japan will have a certain correcting impact on the Kazakh draft nuclear program. “Our approaches have to be adjusted, safety requirements are bound to be toughened”, he said. According to him, the draft program is to be passed in H2 2011.
