Kazakhstan exporters signed contracts worth $1 billion in three years, Tengrinews.kz reports. Over 300 Kazakhstan entrepreneurs have entered foreign markets. The export geography was expanded by 5 countries in 2012. Currently Kazakhstan-made goods are exported to over 100 countries. CIS countries (Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan) remain the major markets. Expo-2020 program has been in place in Kazakhstan over the last three years. Its mechanisms help entrepreneurs to reach foreign markets. It is run by the national agency for export and investments Kaznex Invest. Speaking of the main mechanisms of the program at a meeting with Almaty entrepreneurs its representatives said: "We are ready to reimburse the costs related to your taking of your goods to the foreign markets. Including promotion of Kazakhstan-made goods, i.e. if a Kazakhstan producer spends money on advertisement campaigns, makes video ads, places advertisements in foreign media, the agency will reimburse 50 percent of all these costs in the end of the year," Agency's Director Askar Arynov said. "Besides, half of the costs is reimbursed when a company takes part in exhibitions and trade missions abroad. Several Almaty companies have used this support and are now opening their representative offices, branches and stores abroad." In three years the Agency rendered support to over 300 Kazakhstan entrepreneurs, the contracts were signed for the total amount of $1.2 billion. Kazakhstan-made products popular in foreign markets include engineering equipment and food. "There are problems in systems related to Kazakhstan entering the Customs Union. There are trilateral commissions, technical regulations and issues that are normally solved at the government level. That's why we have the exporters council in the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies that will solve the issues of exporting entrepreneurs," Askar Arynov said. Almaty is the leader among Kazakhstan regions by the number of participants of Export-2020 program.
