Besides, a total of 5.2 thousand of newspapers and magazines issued by the Russian Federation are widely available, with only 2.7 thousand of them being duly registered with the Kazakhstan Ministry of Culture. As far as Internet-based media are concerned, only 5.6% of respective web sites offer Kazakh-language content. The state has been trying to support Kazakh-language media. Due to the state assistance, Kazakh-language content in some state-run media exceeds 70%.
