Fuel in Kazakhstan to be 13% cheaper than in Russia
Kazakhstan will restrain fuel prices after the launch of the Common Economic Space. Fuel prices in Kazakhstan are going to be 10-13 percent lower than in Russia, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports.Kazakhstan Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev said that tax policies - excise taxes in particular - will be applied to regulate the fuel prices in the local market. He reminded that the customs terminals between the Common Economic Space member-countries will be eliminated starting from June 1 this year. “We will be able to keep our fuel prices 10-13 lower than in Russia,” said Mynbayev.Kazakhstan has been applying government control to restrain growth of retail prices of a number of oil products in the last few years.
