The rating was made based on expatistan.com website's survey that calculates and compares the cost of living between the cities around the world. The average cost of living includes prices for housing, food, medical services, transport, clothing and entertainment. The rating includes 5 major cities of Central Asian countries. Astana has turned out to be the most expensive city with an average cost of living at $2,604. It is followed by Almaty with $2,481. Tashkent was ranked third with an average cost of living at $2,390. It is followed by Dushanbe ($1,989) and Bishkek ($1,662).
