9 contracts for hydrocarbons production were terminated in Kazakhstan in 2013, Newskaz.ru reports, citing the country’s Minister of Oil and Gas Uzakbai Karabalin as saying. “Subsurface users received a total of 160 alerts over contract violations (…) 9 contracts were terminated”, according to a press-release handed out at the extended sitting in the Ministry today. As of today there are 199 contracts for hydrocarbons production, with 171 of them containing certain requirements to the share of locally produced products/services and the share of local work force. 28 of the contracts have no such requirements. Works are under way to introduce mandatory targets in 20 out of the latter 28.
