28 policemen killed in action in Kazakhstan in 2011

28 policemen were killed in action in Kazakhstan in 2011, Kazakhstan Interior Minister Kalmukhanbet Kassymov said at the board meeting of the Ministry on February 8, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Interior Ministry’s press-service. “28 policemen were killed and 50 officers were injured in line of duty last year. 55 employees of interior authorities and militarymen were awarded with state awards for bravery and courage during performance of their duties, 12 of them we awarded post-mortem,” the press-service’s message states. The Ministry noted that interior authorities lack enough vehicles and need additional equipment. “We need to purposefully deal with improvement of military training in each police division. Interior authorities need additional equipment, including modern vehicles, communication devices and special means,” the press-service summed up.
