What Kazakhstan’s government will do in the next 10 days

Tengrinews.kz – Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has outlined the government’s immediate priorities for the next 10 days in response to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address to the Nation. The focus will be on boosting investment, reforming the state sector and strengthening business protection.

Bektenov emphasized that launching a new investment cycle is a top priority.

“We must quickly establish a unified mechanism for working with investors and radically renew the investment attraction system,” he said at a government meeting.

Investment with guarantees

According to the Prime Minister, within 10 days an updated system for attracting investment must be developed. Each tenge invested will be secured by legal guarantees, while additional preferences will be introduced for investments in high-tech industries.

State sector reform

The Ministry of National Economy has been tasked with defining the legal boundaries of state participation in the economy and establishing rules for management. Budget program administrators must ensure strict compliance with spending, strengthen financial discipline and maximize efficiency.

Business protection

Bektenov stressed the importance of creating a registry of mandatory requirements to protect entrepreneurs from excessive inspections. The Ministry of National Economy and the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms will oversee its implementation.

In addition, all regulations will undergo review for compliance with the Entrepreneurial Code, with particular focus on supporting and stimulating small and medium-sized businesses.

Earlier, President Tokayev gave Bektenov 10 days to implement measures aimed at launching the new investment cycle.
