Permanent maintenance of judges will be introduced in Kazakhstan by 2013, Chairman of the Supreme Court Bektas Beknazarov told Tengrinews.kz. “This issue was raised long time ago, but we had always received refusals. This year we managed to make the first step. I raised this issue to the President, when I met with him on May 31. I convinced him that this issue needs to be solved and he wrote in his resolution: yes, transition to permanent maintenance of Kazakhstan judges has to be introduced gradually. We have his signature, the Government has been instructed, calculations are in process and the work is being done. It is not possible to do it quickly, but I assure you that the President supports this initiative, instructions have given and I think that in 1 or 2 years maximum we will achieve that our judges will start receiving permanent maintenance. I will talk to the President once again,” Beknazarov told the veterans of judicial system on September 8. Bektas Beknazarov also said that Kazakhstan entered the International Association of Judges on September 8.
