Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov instructed to simplify the procedure of issuing permits for construction, Tengrinews.kz reports. PM gave instructions to management of the Agency of Construction and Housing and Utilities at the meeting on November 28. “The latest Doing Business rating made by the World Bank shows that we are unfortunately in the very end of the list in the Construction Permit category. I have been talking about it and right now I'm clearly setting the task for everyone involved in this process: we need to simplify the process of obtaining construction permits as much as possible, using the best international practices. First of all, permits obtaining should be simplified for individual housing construction. Sometimes it requires an enormous amount of papers and time,” PM said. “The state has the money to develop the infrastructure and people have the money and desire to construct their own houses. The problem is that so many permits are required. I assign your agency with the mission to simplify the process,” Karim Massimov addressed the Agency. According to Prime-Minister, this issue will be discussed in details at the Ministers meeting in the first quarter of 2012.
