Punishment for incitement of labor conflicts will be toughened in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports. The new draft Criminal Code of Kazakhstan provides for escalation of the punishment for incitement of labor conflicts to three years in jail. “It provides for punishment of instigators of labor conflicts. Now the maximum punishment will make 3 years in jail,” the representative of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s Office Almas Mukhamedzhanov said at the meeting of the Public Council on Ensuring Legitimacy. Besides, speaking of the new provisions of the Criminal Code, he noted that liability for spreading offensive slanderous information via computer systems would also be enhanced. “There is a separate article for cybercrimes. It addresses unauthorized access to computer information, its illegal intersection, modification or elimination, as well as distribution of software or destructive materials that impose public threat,” he said. Besides, considering the provisions of the Health Code, the new edition of the Criminal Code provides for a criminal liability for human cloning. “Introduction of a special article for all the medical crimes can also be considered an innovation in the new version. It was among the tasks set by the President in the Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy to enhance liability for crimes against motherhood and childhood,” Mukhamedzhanov said. According to him, the new Criminal Code suggests very strict punishments for all crimes against children and teenagers. “At the same time, the law will be softened for those who commit crimes for the first time, for socially vulnerable strata of the population, first of all for teenagers, women, retired and disabled persons,” he noted.
