Deputy Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbol Orynbayev suggested to unite the science of the Islamic world, Tengrinews.kz reports from the international scientific symposium called Science and technologies in the Islamic world: achievements and perspectives. “The knowledge exchange will develop the general potential. This symposium will become an effective platform for knowledge exchange in development of technologies in the Islamic world. Being a chairman of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Kazakhstan suggests to unite the science and join efforts to achieve higher objectives in science development. This involves all aspects of life – political, economic and social – and provides a solution for the most global problems, such as healthcare, cultural development. All these issues can only be solved through science,” Orynbayev said at the symposium. According to deputy chairman of the science commission of Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science Yerbol Suleimenov, positioning of Kazakhstan in the Islamic world as one of the leading states for science and technologies will become the main result of the symposium. Besides, the symposium is aimed to show the scientific achievements to the colleagues from OIC member-states and, thus, help establishing cooperation between the scientists. Previous conferences of the Islamic world science academy were held in Russia in 2008, in Malaysia in 2009 and in Qatar in 2011. The academy covers 57 OIC member-countries. Astana declaration will be adopted at the end of the symposium to seal the efforts of the scientific circles of OIC countries. Kazakhstan scientists were the first scientists in the post soviet space to receive access to the world’s scientific-information resources, such as Springer and Thomson Reuters. A memorandum with another leading scientific edition Wiley-Blackwell is expected to be signed at the symposium. Such cooperation will increase the number of Kazakhstan publications abroad and improve the level of research in general. By Shynar Ospanova
