Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan issued a statement regarding the spread of a phenomenon known as "quadrobica" among children and teenagers, where young people, using animal-like accessories (masks, tails), imitate animal behavior, according to Gazeta.uz.

"This has been observed among the youth in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. Unfortunately, such unacceptable actions have also been noted in the city of Tashkent," the statement said.

The ministry reminded that parents are responsible for the upbringing, education, and development of their children until they reach adulthood.

The ministry warned that the manifestation of the "subculture called quadrobics" among children will be classified as "parents' failure to fulfill their duties."

"According to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, a fine of up to five base calculation units – up to 1.875 million soums (approximately 147 USD) – is provided for this," the statement said.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that, if necessary, a special psychological examination of children may be required to determine how "quadrobica" affects the mental and emotional health of the child.

The ministry urged parents to "fulfill their moral duty and legal responsibility for the comprehensive upbringing of their children."

Quadrobica is an activity where children and adolescents move on all fours, imitating animal movements. They use masks and fake tails to portray cats, foxes, wolves, and other animals.
