Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh authorities will now receive information on the earnings of bloggers and content creators directly from platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. This was announced by Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev.

At a government press conference, journalists asked whether foreign companies would indeed be required to report to Kazakhstani state agencies.

In response, Takiyev explained that foreign companies operating internet platforms within Kazakhstan are registered in the country. These include major players such as Alibaba and Pinduoduo.

“As for YouTube, TikTok, Facebook — where individuals earn money through monetization — these companies will provide us with information on individuals receiving such income from these sources. We need this for verification purposes. In general, an individual is still responsible for filing their own tax declaration,” Takiyev said.

He clarified that if someone fails to submit a declaration, the tax authorities will be able to notify the person based on the data received.

“For example, we could say: ‘You had this amount of income in, say, 2025, and you are required to file a declaration and pay taxes,’” the finance minister explained.

When asked whether this process would only happen upon request, he replied:

“No. Our State Revenue Committee has signed many agreements. As you know, we work with the OECD, we are connected to the MLA, and we use all our international tools and web resources. We exchange data with all OECD member countries. Accordingly, we receive all the information they have by the end of the year,” Madi Takiyev added.
