Tengrinews.kz – Astana is considering adjusting the work schedules of central executive bodies (ministries) to reduce the load on the city's transport system by distributing passenger traffic more evenly.

Deputy Akim of the capital, Yersin Otebayev, stated during a Maslikhat meeting that in 2018, the start of the Akimat's workday was shifted to 8:30 AM.

"We plan to bring this initiative to the government level to discuss shifting the start time for central executive bodies. Whether it will be by 30 minutes or an hour is still under discussion. We will coordinate with our education, healthcare, and other organizations," said Otebayev.

According to him, adjusting work schedules would help reduce congestion on the city's roads during morning and evening peak hours.

"If every public transport passenger had their work start time shifted by 30 minutes, drivers would have to start their routes earlier as well. This would help ensure a more balanced traffic flow. However, this issue requires further study, and we will work on it together," he added.

Otebayev also emphasized that unlike other measures to ease road infrastructure congestion, which require significant financial investment and long-term implementation, this step can be quickly developed and show results in the near future.
