Tengrinews.kz - Astana Maslikhat Chairman Tabigat Zeinulkabden has addressed the possibility of shortening working hours in the capital.

Speaking to journalists on the Mazhilis sidelines, Zeinulkabden ruled out a reduction in working time but noted that work schedules could be adjusted.

"The eight-hour workday will remain, but some people may start earlier, while others may start later," he explained.

He added that a minor adjustment of 30 minutes is unlikely to have a major impact, but shifting work schedules by 1–1.5 hours could significantly improve the city’s traffic situation.

"Simply reducing working hours won’t solve the traffic problem. However, adjusting schedules by 1–1.5 hours could make a big difference," he emphasized.

Earlier it became known that the work schedule may be changed in Astana.

All 11 districts of the East Kazakhstan region have already switched to "their own time." Starting March 13, employees of government institutions, enterprises, and social services in two districts of East Kazakhstan – Shemonaikha and Glubokoe – will begin work under a new schedule, starting at 8:00 AM.
