Tengrinews.kz - Former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev, who was sentenced to 24 years in prison, is not employed in the colony. This was reported by the Committee of Criminal Executive System.
According to the committee, Bishimbayev is serving his sentence in a maximum security facility.
"Due to the lack of available positions, he is not employed. The daily routine of the convicted person is followed in accordance with the rules of internal order for penal correction institutions and current penal legislation," the committee stated.
Earlier, it was mentioned what kind of work Bishimbayev might be assigned in the colony. According to Tenezhjan Zhanibekov, Chairman of the Committee of Criminal Executive System the former minister could be employed at "Enbek" in the woodworking or metalworking sectors.
Recall: On May 13 in Astana, the trial concluded regarding the murder of Saltanat Nukenova, which took place on November 9, 2023. Former Minister of Economy of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Bishimbayev was found guilty of torturing and murdering his wife. He was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Following this, Bishimbayev and his brother Bakhytzhan Baizhanov have appealed their prison sentences following their convictions in the high-profile murder case of Saltanat Nukenova.
