Tengrinews.kz - Several key transport projects will be completed in Almaty in 2025, according to city mobility department.
It is noted that one of the largest projects this year will be the transport interchange at the intersection of Seifullin Avenue and Zhansugurov Street. The work is planned to be fully completed in June, including the improvement of the adjacent territory.
"It is planned to complete the construction of the interchange at the intersection of Seifullin Avenue - Zhansugurov Street and the paving of Saina Street from Ryskulov Avenue to Akyn Sara Street, as well as Abai Avenue to the city border," the report says.
Also in May, the paving of Abay Avenue from Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Street to the city border will be put into operation. The new 5.3-kilometer-long section of the road will include six traffic lanes, bike paths, and sidewalks on both sides.
In the summer, the paving of Saina Street from Ryskulov Avenue to Akyn Sara Street will be completed. The length of the section will be 3.2 kilometers.
"Thanks to this, the traffic load from Momyshuly Street is expected to decrease by 40 percent," the information states.
Previously, Almaty akim (governor) Erbolat Dossaev explained why the start of construction of the bus rapid transit along Raimbek Avenue and Zheltoksan Street was postponed.
