"There were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board the crashed Baku-Grozny plane," writes the BAZA Telegram channel.
Meanwhile, the Mash Telegram channel reports that there were 105 passengers and five crew members on board the plane. All were citizens of Russia and Azerbaijan.
As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, 52 personnel and 11 units of equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan arrived in Aktau at the site of the plane crash. Upon arrival, the aircraft was found to be on fire.
"Rescue units have begun extinguishing the fire. Currently, information about the victims is being clarified, preliminary reports indicate that there are survivors," the report says.
In addition, Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova commented on the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane.
"Nothing is known yet. 14 ambulance teams have left for the scene. A national headquarters has been created, a vice minister has left for there, one vice minister is coordinating the work here (in Astana - ed.). Air ambulances have been prepared at the scene to leave and send specialists there - traumatologists, neurosurgeons, and so on. And we will provide assistance on the spot. If necessary, we will evacuate. The work is underway," Alnazarova said.
A republican operational headquarters has been created in the Command Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where a hotline is available: 8 7292 319099.
Recall: on the morning of December 25, a passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near Aktau. A video from the cabin of the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane shortly before the crash in Aktau has appeared online.
On this matter, President Tokayev expressed his condolences.
