Tengrinews.kz - It has been revealed how police patrol the natural area of Burabay.
It turns out that officers use drones to detect violations of environmental laws. Aerial patrols help prevent illegal fishing, hunting, and respond quickly to fires, reports Polisia.kz.
On November 20, a raid was conducted using a drone at the Small Chebachye, Shchuchye, Borovoe lakes and the adjacent forests.
Duman Zhumanalin, senior inspector of the Burabay district environmental police group, noted that in 2024, special mobile groups carried out over 180 raid activities.
"We identified and stopped around 200 administrative offenses related to hunting and fishing violations," he said.
The protection of the Burabay natural reserve is carried out in cooperation with the national park. Thirteen towers equipped with video cameras provide 360-degree coverage with a range of up to 30 kilometers. Officers conduct patrols and monitor the area 24/7 using cameras and drones. It is also reported that during the autumn and winter period, police warn fishermen about the dangers of thin ice, check documents, and ensure fishing gear permits are in order.
