As it became known during a briefing at the Central Communications Service, elders of the Zhambyl region spoke in favor of creating a wedding culture. Journalists asked the akim of the region whether this would help get rid of excesses and wastefulness at weddings.
"We have also recently analyzed. If we take Taraz and regional centers, then on Friday, Saturday and Sunday about 300 people come to one toi (celebration). If we multiply this by the number (of tois - ed.), then every day on weekends about 20-25 thousand people go to tois. Therefore, we gathered all the hosts, we call them asabalar. We developed a code with them, special rules. Here are ideas from the akimat, my deputy, who oversees domestic policy, is working on this," noted Karashukeyev.
The akim of the Zhambyl region noted that instead of spending large sums on lavish celebrations, parents could direct funds to support newlyweds.
"My opinion: it would be better if the parents collected this money and helped the young people. Some standards should be introduced here, not allowing for unnecessary waste. Not allowing for any violations during these events. This is the work that we should do with these asabalar - presenters. Together we have Sherkhan Murtaza, the cultural center. We hired all the specialists there, and discussed it for a long time. I think that we will now come to streamlining this process," the akim concluded.
