Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has warned the residents of Astana, Almaty, and seven other cities in Kazakhstan.

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has warned the residents of Astana, Almaty, and seven other cities in Kazakhstan.

"On November 26, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions leading to air pollution are expected in the cities of Almaty, Astana, Aktobe, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Pavlodar, Kokshetau, and Petropavlovsk," the statement says.

Unfavorable weather conditions represent a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, weak winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (pollutant) substances in the ground layer of atmospheric air.

Earlier, meteorologists released a seasonal forecast for winter 2024/2025, predicting "temperature swings" with sharp fluctuations and challenging weather conditions for Kazakhstan residents.
