Tengrinews.kz – The Head of State has signed the law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Issues of Optimizing the Criminal Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” according to Akorda.
The law introduces amendments to the Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Penal Enforcement Code, the Code “On Marriage and Family,” the laws “On Operative-Investigative Activities,” “On Payments and Payment Systems,” and others.
The first block of amendments ensures the stability of the criminal legislation.
The second block aims to improve criminal legislation and increase liability for certain socially dangerous acts.
In particular, stalking—unlawful pursuit of a person through attempts to establish contact and/or surveillance against their will, not involving violence but causing significant harm—has been criminalized.

Kazakhstan will also begin penalizing the delivery and storage of vapes for sale.
In addition, punishment for dropper activity (fraudulent account use) and bride kidnapping will be introduced into the current legislation.
The third block focuses on strengthening citizens’ rights in criminal proceedings, increasing competitiveness in the criminal process, and optimizing procedures.
The fourth block improves penal enforcement legislation.
