USAID allocating money to enhance Kazakhstan’s healthcare system

USAID will be allocating about $11 million to enhance the Kazakhstan’s healthcare, Profinance.kz quoted Sheila O'Dougherty of USAID as saying. According to her, the healthcare project is designed for 5 years and seeks to increase access to quality healthcare within two years’ time. Starting from the end of 2012, the Program will be focused on HIV prevention and tuberculosis prevention. USAID began providing assistance to Kazakhstan in 1992, soon after the country became independent. Since that time, the American people through USAID have provided approximately $550 million in programs that assist the development of the country’s economic sector, healthcare system, and democratic institutions. USAID programs cooperate with ministries, governmental and non-government organizations, businesses, and communities to improve laws, create jobs, increase incomes, improve services, and better manage available resources. USAID is the government agency providing U.S. economic and humanitarian assistance worldwide for more than 40 years. USAID Kazakhstan
