U.S. Science Envoy Dr. Alice Gast
U.S. Science Envoy Dr. Alice Gast will visit Kazakhstan next week, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing US Embassy's press-service. The purpose of her trip is to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan in science. It is expected that Gast will stay in Kazakhstan on June 20-23. During this period she will meet with representatives of Kazakhstan scientific community in Astana and Almaty. According to CA-NEWS, Kazakhstan will be the first country in Central Asia for Gast to visit. “We defined new areas of cooperation with the United States, such as, for example, science and technologies. President Obama appointed Alice Gast a special adviser, the Science Envoy. She is also President of Lehigh University. Gast is an outstanding scientist and we have established a very successful cooperation with her. She will come to Kazakhstan shortly,” Kazakhstan Ambassador to the United States Yerlan Idrissov said.
