The President was informed about the measures taken by the Ministry in 2024 in the areas of culture, information, civil society, religion, interethnic relations, youth policy and creative industries, family and demographics, archives and library science, as well as the department's plans for 2025.
As Aida Balayeva said, this year Kazakh art was presented for the first time at world-famous art venues: Venice Biennale, The Guimet Museum. Kazakhstan's publishing products were demonstrated at the world's largest Frankfurt Book Fair.
"An important project in terms of promoting the history, culture and traditions of the country was the launch of the Qazaq culture information and educational platform in eight languages. The opening and closing ceremonies of the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana were also a bright cultural and mass event.
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the work of the ministry in the field of lawmaking. In 2024, a new law on the media was adopted in Kazakhstan, aimed at raising the status of journalists. The Parliament is considering amendments to the legislation aimed at providing direct financing for the Kazakhfilm film studio," the Akorda statement said.
The head of state was informed about support for the development of the volunteer movement. As the minister reported, compared to 2022, the number of active volunteers has increased to 240 thousand people. More than 50 volunteer projects are implemented annually, 7 Kazakhstani volunteers have been sent to UN structures.
According to the minister, a package of measures to support creative industries has been developed, which includes the creation of the Creative Industries Fund, expanding the competencies of central and local executive bodies. A special tax regime has been introduced for creative industry entities. Since the beginning of the year, 10 creative centers and hubs have been opened in the country.
"In conclusion, the President instructed to take special control of the preparations for such anniversaries and significant events of next year as the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions," the press service of Akorda notes.
