Tengrinews.kz - The President of the United States has written a letter to Tokayev, according to Presidential Adviser and Press Secretary to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Aibek Smadiyarov.

He said that a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump had been received in the name of the Head of State.

“The American leader spoke appreciatively of his meeting with the President of Kazakhstan during the inaugural session of the Peace Council held in February in Washington. The President of the United States emphasized that he looks forward to welcoming the Head of our State again at the next Peace Council meeting and at the upcoming G20 summit in Miami at the end of this year,” Aibek Smadiyarov said.

In February of this year, the President of Kazakhstan took part in the inaugural session of the Peace Council. The event was held at the Donald Trump Institute of Peace in Washington. In his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed establishing a new award on the sidelines of the Peace Council.

Earlier, on January 22, Tokayev arrived in Davos to attend the signing ceremony of the Peace Council charter, established at the initiative of President Donald Trump. Kazakhstan was invited to become one of the founding states, and Tokayev was among the first leaders to receive an official invitation to join the Council on Gaza.

According to Washington’s vision, the Peace Council will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources and monitoring commitments related to Gaza’s peaceful development.

The founding executive board will consist of seven members — described by the White House as leaders with experience in diplomacy, development, infrastructure and economic strategy. Each member will oversee a separate area considered critical for stabilizing Gaza.

In addition, a Gaza executive board will be formed to supervise the activities of the new government in the enclave. The body will include 11 members, four of whom will also serve on the founding executive board.
