Tengrinews.kz - U.S. President Donald Trump sent several gifts to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
This was reported by Ruslan Zheldibay, aide and press secretary to the President of Kazakhstan. According to him, during a brief conversation after the ceremony for presenting credentials, Donald Trump shared his impressions with Kazakhstan’s ambassador, Magzhan Ilyassov, about his meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Oval Office in November of this year.
The American leader conveyed warm personal wishes to the President of Kazakhstan, emphasized his respect, and described him as “a wonderful person and an experienced statesman with a deep and balanced understanding of international processes.”
The U.S. President also sent Kassym-Jomart Tokayev several gifts, including a symbolic key to the White House and a baseball cap bearing his autograph.
Recall that on November 6, President Tokayev arrived in Washington on an official visit. His program began with meetings with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and the U.S. President’s Special Representative for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor.
In addition, in the presence of President Tokayev, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Kazakhstan and the United States on cooperation in the field of critical minerals.
President Tokayev also held talks with Donald Trump, who confirmed the United States’ commitment to further strengthening the comprehensive enhanced strategic partnership with Kazakhstan.
The leaders welcomed the signing, during the visit, of commercial agreements between Kazakhstan and the United States totaling more than $17 billion.
