Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take part in the signing ceremony of the Peace Council Charter, the Akorda press service reports.
It is noted that on 22 January, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay a working visit to Davos at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. There, the President will take part in the ceremony of signing the Peace Council Charter.
As reported earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was among the first to receive an official invitation from Donald Trump to join the emerging Peace Council on Gaza, and Kazakhstan was invited to become one of its founding states. The President sent a reply letter to the American leader, expressing his gratitude and agreeing to participate in the new association.
It is also noted that the World Economic Forum is being held in Davos, Switzerland, from 19 to 23 January. Earlier it was reported that on 22 January in Davos Trump will hold a ceremony to announce the Charter of the Peace Council on the settlement of the situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to Washington’s concept, the Peace Council will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and monitoring compliance with commitments on Gaza’s peaceful development.
The founding executive board will include, as the White House reports, seven people — “leaders with experience in diplomacy, development, infrastructure and economic strategy.”
Each member of the founding executive board is expected to be responsible for a separate area “critically important for the stabilization of Gaza.”
In addition, a Gaza executive board will be formed to oversee the work of the new government of the enclave. It will include 11 people, among them four members of the founding executive board.
Earlier, Donald Trump described the new body as “the greatest and most prestigious council ever assembled at any time and in any place.”
