Tengrinews.kz — Former Georgian Minister of Finance Valeri Chechelashvili shared his opinion on the talks between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Donald Trump.
A video with the Georgian politician’s comments appeared on YouTube. In it, Valeri Chechelashvili discusses the C5+1 summit in Washington.
“It was clear that out of the five leaders, Donald Trump very clearly singled out the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He gave him the floor first. This is not surprising, since more than 100 billion dollars in American investments have already been made in Kazakhstan. As it turns out, contracts worth 17 billion were signed following the meeting,” the Georgian politician noted.
“It’s obvious that all the presidents’ speeches began with polite remarks addressed to Donald Trump, who, frankly speaking, deserves them. Through his active policy, sometimes using somewhat unconventional diplomatic methods, he sets the agenda of global politics — with more peace, more cooperation, and fewer conflicts and contradictions.”
“I think it was a good meeting... We are expecting very interesting developments ahead. And it is very important that the topic of the South Caucasus was raised as a continuation of the Trans-Caspian corridor, which we call the Middle Corridor,” Valery Chechelashvili concluded.
