Tengrinews.kz - A tragic incident occurred on the evening of June 23 on the Otar – Almaty-1 section of the railway. Two individuals entered the tracks and were struck by a train. Details of the incident were shared by the "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" press service.
According to the press service, the incident took place between Aksenger and Burunday. Two people suddenly stepped onto the tracks at an unauthorized location in front of an oncoming train and attempted to cross to the other side. The train driver sounded the horn, but the individuals did not respond. Due to the short distance, the train was unable to stop in time. Both pedestrians died as a result.
The Transport Police Department has launched a criminal investigation into the violation of railway safety rules that led to the accidental death of two or more people.
Previously, a passenger train narrowly avoided a collision with a bus that drove onto the tracks in the Zhambyl region.
