Tengrinews.kz – A solemn welcoming ceremony for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was held in Astana.
The press service of the President of Kazakhstan broadcast the ceremony live from the capital’s Palace of Independence. Talks between the heads of state are scheduled to follow.
It should be noted that on May 13, the Turkish leader arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The day before, vivid footage appeared of the ceremonial welcome for the Turkish leader at the capital’s airport.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kazakhstan with his wife. At the airport, the Turkish President was welcomed by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Kazakh delegation greeting the foreign guest included Head of the Presidential Administration Roman Sklyar and Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev.
From the moment the Turkish President’s aircraft crossed Kazakhstan’s state border until it landed at Astana airport, it was escorted by fighter jets of Kazakhstan’s Air Defense Forces.
Earlier, it was reported that the heads of state would discuss the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations. Tokayev and Erdogan will also hold the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
On May 15, an informal summit of leaders of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Turkestan. The theme of the summit is “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.”
