Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, citing Akorda.
Tokayev’s official visit to Turkey began with a visit to the mausoleum of the founder of the modern Turkish state and its first president, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Honoring the memory of the great statesman at Anitkabir, the President of Kazakhstan left a message in the Book of Honored Guests.
“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the friendship between Kazakhstan and Turkey would continue to grow stronger and wished the brotherly Turkish people well-being and prosperity,” the statement read.
Members of the official Kazakh delegation took part in the wreath-laying ceremony.
Tokayev arrived in Ankara on Monday, July 28, for an official visit. At Ankara Esenboga Airport, he was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Erdoğan rarely welcomes foreign heads of state personally at the airport—such a gesture is usually reserved for leaders of particularly friendly nations.
On July 29, the two presidents will hold talks aimed at further strengthening the enhanced strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
