Tengrinews.kz — Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed attempts to drive a wedge between Kazakhstan and Russia. He made the statement today during a press briefing.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that significant attention during the talks was devoted to cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

"Kazakhstan and Russia regularly host large-scale reciprocal Days of Culture, which vividly demonstrate the rich palette of our shared spiritual and cultural heritage. Expert meetings between historians and political scientists from both countries have also proven beneficial. This year will see the third Kazakhstan-Russia Media Forum, which facilitates effective interaction in the information sphere. Such events are essential for exchanging experience to jointly counter disinformation and attempts to sow discord between our countries and peoples. We also attach great importance to the successful hosting of the third 'Games of the Future,' set to take place in Astana this July and August," stated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Head of State specifically highlighted joint projects in the field of secondary education.

"Kazakhstan has hosted two 'Sirius' talent meetings, reflecting systematic support for gifted youth to train a new generation of professionals. This January, the first capsule was laid at the construction site of the 'Sirius' center in Almaty, and we have just witnessed a similar ceremony in Astana. The educational projects of the 'Sirius' center could become a hallmark of our humanitarian cooperation, contributing significantly to strengthening the intellectual potential of our nations," the Kazakh President shared.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev described the Russian President's state visit as highly successful, expressing confidence that it would go down in the history of their strategic partnership and allied relations as an event of particular importance.

"The signed documents and reached agreements reflect the essence of the Kazakh-Russian partnership—combining traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness with a mutual drive for progress in all spheres of public life. In closing, I wish to once again express my sincere gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, for his historically significant contribution to the development of Kazakh-Russian relations. It is with great satisfaction that I emphasize that the results of your state visit have confirmed the special nature of our multifaceted interstate cooperation. There is no doubt that through joint efforts, we will continue our steady progress toward strengthening our strategic partnership and alliance for the well-being of our brotherly nations and peoples," Tokayev concluded.

The Russian President emphasized the businesslike and constructive nature of the talks, noting they align with the friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.

"We discussed in detail the core issues of bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, and the cultural-humanitarian sphere, and touched upon pressing international matters. A joint statement has been signed, outlining priority tasks to strengthen the entire range of Russian-Kazakh cooperation. A number of important intergovernmental and interagency documents were also concluded, covering various sectors from energy and finance to healthcare and education. Significant attention was paid to economic interaction. Last year, our trade turnover reached nearly $29 billion, and we are confidently moving toward the $30 billion mark. There is no doubt this milestone will be reached in the very near future. I am certain that this visit and these negotiations will further strengthen the multifaceted Russian-Kazakh relations for the benefit of our countries and peoples," said Vladimir Putin.
