On June 17, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Ratification of the Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations on the Establishment in the Republic of Kazakhstan of the United Nations Regional Center for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan.”

The President also signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding Between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Regarding the United Nations Regional Center for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan.”

Earlier, it was reported that the Regional Center is intended to strengthen regional coordination in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, improve the effectiveness of technical assistance programs, experience exchange and analytical support, as well as strengthen Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the UN and countries of the region.
