Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree on the unified jubilee medal "Uly Otan sogysyndagy Zheniske 80 zhyl" (80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War), citing the press service of Akorda.
According to the decree, the unified jubilee medal will be awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, and other eligible individuals.
The decree's commentary states that its development was based on the decision of the CIS Heads of State Council dated June 10, 2024, on the establishment of a unified jubilee medal "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945."
The medal will be awarded to war veterans, military personnel, workers, and employees who became disabled due to injuries or illnesses sustained at the front or in the rear.
It will also be given to military personnel without disabilities who served during the war, spouses and widows of fallen soldiers, as well as former underage prisoners of concentration camps and ghettos.
"The awarding of the jubilee medal is carried out by local executive bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on behalf of and by order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan within six months from the date of approval of the lists. The medal is awarded at the place where the recipient is included in the list," the decree states.
Along with the jubilee medal, a certificate of award will also be issued.
The decree comes into effect on the date of its official publication.
