They also discussed cooperation in the energy sector.

Recall that on February 12 in Astana, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russia’s Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in various areas of bilateral partnership and regional security. The Secretary of the Russian Security Council thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the opportunity to meet and discuss the most pressing regional security issues.

Notably, in January of this year, during a meeting between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Head of State accepted the invitation from the President of Russia to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory.
