Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has significant opportunities in at least four key areas, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated at the National Kurultai in Burabay.
According to the President, the country has the potential not only to achieve self-sufficiency but also to set the tone regionally and globally in these four areas.
"Digitalization and artificial intelligence, transport transit, energy, and the agro-industrial sector are among our main priorities. Additionally, human capital remains a crucial factor."
Tokayev highlighted that Kazakhstan already ranks among the top 25 countries in the UN E-Government Development Index, which evaluates more than 190 nations.
"However, we cannot afford to slow down. High technology will drive progress in all economic sectors and government administration. The government must significantly enhance efforts to create a favorable environment for the widespread adoption of advanced digital solutions and artificial intelligence," he said.
The President emphasized the need for a robust data storage and processing infrastructure and the expansion of Kazakhstan’s technological exports. However, he noted that successful digitalization depends on the country’s energy capacity.
Given the growing energy shortage in the region and worldwide, Tokayev stressed the need for Kazakhstan to become a major player in the global energy market.
"Kazakhstan must not only achieve full energy self-sufficiency but also emerge as a key energy exporter. This is a necessity of our time," he concluded.
The two-day session of the National Kurultai brings together government officials, public figures, and experts to discuss key issues shaping the country’s future.
