Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram of condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump following a deadly plane crash near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, according to a statement from Akorda.

Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram of condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump following a deadly plane crash near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, according to a statement from Akorda.

Tokayev expressed deep sorrow over the loss of many lives in the tragic incident.

"On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and personally, the Head of State extended his heartfelt condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump, the families of the victims, and all those affected by this tragedy," the statement reads.

On January 30, a collision occurred between an American Airlines passenger plane and a military helicopter near the Potomac River. The aircraft was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members. According to the latest reports, rescue teams have recovered more than 30 bodies from the river, and search and rescue operations involving around 300 specialists are ongoing. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
